Renée Gelinas, M.A.C.P., Registered Psychotherapist

Renée holds a certificate of registration authorizing practice from the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She obtained an honours bachelor’s degree in psychology from Laurentian University and a master’s degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University.

Renée offers therapy, counselling, and support to individuals (age 14+) and to couples. She works with clients presenting with a variety of concerns, including, but not limited to: mood and anxiety, stress management, life changes, relationship issues, and grief. She has an interest in assisting people with trauma and ADHD, and pursues on-going training in these areas. She takes pride in supporting the 2SLGBTQI+ community.

Born and raised in Sudbury, Renée (she/her) is bilingual and offers services in both French and English. She draws from a wealth of life experience, both on a professional and personal level, to support clients on their journey of self-discovery. She takes an integrative approach to therapy and is familiar with applying practices from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) informed treatment modalities. Renée also draws from Gottman Method informed interventions when working with couples. She also utilizes client-centered and mindfulness practices, which create a compassionate, inclusive, and empathetic space to help individuals build a rich and meaningful life.
