Émilie Carrière, Psy. D., C.Psych. (Supervised Practice)

 Émilie is a clinical associate and holds a certificate of registration for a psychologist authorizing supervised practice from the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. Her training includes an honours bachelor’s degree in psychology from Laurentian University and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Université de Moncton.  Her previous training and professional experience include several clinical practica in various private practices, as well as in a hospital setting. She has experience in the provision of psychological assessments, individual psychotherapy, individual counselling, and group psychotherapy with adolescents and adults for a variety of presenting concerns including, but not limited to, mood, anxiety, and trauma. Émilie generally takes a cognitive-behavioural and strength-based approach to therapy. She strives to provide a non-judgmental, supportive, collaborative, and compassionate environment. Émilie’s research has focused on self-compassion interventions for chronic pain and body image, and the relationship between self-compassion and numerous psychological protective and vulnerability factors, such as resilience, optimism, and catastrophizing.
