Émilie Carrière, B.A.

Émilie is a clinical associate who is currently completing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) at Université de Moncton. She obtained an honours bachelor’s degree in psychology from Laurentian University. Her previous training and professional experience include several clinical practica in various private practices, as well as in a hospital setting. She has experience in the provision of psychological assessments, individual psychotherapy, individual counselling, and group psychotherapy with adolescents and adults for a variety of presenting concerns including, but not limited to, mood, anxiety, and trauma. Émilie generally takes a cognitive-behavioural and strength-based approach to therapy. She strives to provide a non-judgmental, supportive, collaborative, and compassionate environment. Émilie’s research has focused on self-compassion interventions for chronic pain and body image, and the relationship between self-compassion and numerous psychological protective and vulnerability factors, such as resilience, optimism, and catastrophizing.
